- Decorated with bird and and spider motif.
- Sugar bowl measures 4 3/4" high by 3 3/8' across and 5 1/2" across from handle to handle.
- Creamer measures 4 3/4" high by 3 3/8' across and 5 1/2" across from handle to spout.
- Restored by Zapffe Silversmiths.
Organized in 1880 as the Pairpoint Mfg. Co with Edward D. Mandel as president. Thomas J. Pairpoint, for whom the company was named, had most recently been with the Meriden Britannia Company. Pairpoint served his apprenticeship in Paris and later worked for the prominent firm of Lambert& Rawlings in London. He was chief de-signer for the Gorham Manufacturing Company from about 1868 until the late 1870s. During this time he designed many pieces of the Gorham Company's regular line as well as special exhibition pieces.
